Privacy Policy

Closetry · Effective July 29, 2026

The short version: Closetry has no advertising, cross-app tracking, account profile, or third-party analytics SDK. Your closet stays in the app on your device. Photos leave the device only when you ask for an AI feature. Closetry does not save those photos on its servers.

Photos and AI processing

When you add clothing or request a Try-On, Closetry re-encodes the relevant images to remove embedded metadata, sends them over an encrypted connection through our Cloudflare Worker, and forwards them to the OpenAI API. The Worker processes image bytes in memory and does not write the images or generated results to server storage. Results are returned to the app and stored in its local container.

OpenAI does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models by default. Under OpenAI's standard API policy, inputs and outputs may be retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, unless a longer period is legally required. Closetry sets store: false for Responses API detection to avoid separate application-state storage. See OpenAI's API data controls.

Your model photo

If you add a photo of yourself for Try-On, Closetry re-encodes and downscales it, stores it with complete file protection in the app container, and excludes it from device backups. It is sent only when you explicitly request a Try-On. Deleting it in the app immediately removes the device copy; content from earlier API requests remains subject to OpenAI's retention period above.

Service identity and usage allowances

Private service requests contain Apple-signed App Store transaction data. We verify that data to confirm the app and any active Closetry Pro subscription. The stable account-and-app identifier supplied by Apple is immediately transformed with a keyed one-way hash. Closetry stores only that pseudonymous service identifier and typed usage totals needed to enforce free and subscription allowances and prevent reinstall abuse. We do not receive your Apple ID email, name, or payment details.

Lifetime free-plan totals are retained while needed to provide and protect the service. Calendar-period subscription totals naturally become inactive after their period. Completed request identifiers are retained for seven days to prevent duplicate charging; abandoned reservations expire after fifteen minutes.

Operational logs

Short-lived logs contain a random request identifier, route, response status, and processing time so we can diagnose outages. They do not contain photos, prompts, generated results, raw Apple transaction data, or the pseudonymous quota identifier. Cloudflare Workers retains these logs for up to seven days, depending on the service plan.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions. Closetry receives signed product and entitlement information to unlock Pro but never receives your payment-card or bank details. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Apple Account settings.

Data on your device

Closet items, looks, wear history, imported source photos, and generated images are stored in Closetry's local app container. Except for the model photo, they may be included in device backups according to your Apple backup settings; Closetry cannot access those backups. The app offers no iCloud or CloudKit sync.

Your choices

In You → Privacy & data, you can export the local closet as a ZIP, delete the model photo, or delete all local catalog data and images. Local deletion does not reset pseudonymous server allowance records. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of server data, email support@closetry.app. Some minimal records may be retained where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, enforce entitlements, resolve disputes, or comply with law.

Sharing and international processing

We use Cloudflare to operate the relay and quota service, OpenAI to perform requested AI processing, and Apple to process purchases and verify StoreKit transactions. These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and may process it in countries other than yours. We do not sell personal data or share it for targeted advertising.

Children

Closetry is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us.

Security

Closetry uses encrypted transport, Apple-signed transaction verification, bounded request bodies, strongly consistent quota storage, and protected on-device files. No service can guarantee absolute security; please contact us if you believe your data is at risk.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material updates will be posted here with a new effective date.
